Non-sectarian early childhood program. Critical thinking, cognitive risk taking, creativity and empathy are encouraged and nurtured. They are influenced by the work of educators in Reggio Emilia, Italy who hold a strong image of children as highly capable beings, who should be able to follow their interests, ask their own questions, and find answers through a balanced combination of individual work, peer collaboration and thoughtful teacher support. Teachers embed early literacy, mathematical foundations and science into the curriculum which meets children’s interests. Art and music specialists enrich classroom investigations through small and whole group work.
