About this daycare
Description
Childcare program at Brook Hollow Baptist Church using a developmentally-appropriate curriculum to provide learning activities to children in infancy through preschool. Infants and toddlers in the Mother's Day Out class are allowed to explore in open-ended centers. Preschool class provides children with small and large group instruction, teacher-guided activities, and time for spontaneous play. Children have access to a shaded playground, an indoor gym area for rainy days, as well as a nature play area.

Daily Schedule
Typical Day
Children are invited into a classroom that is like a second home with child-centered, friendly, warm, and inviting environment. Children explore through age-appropriate, open-ended centers and activities that support active learning. Includes healthy mid-morning snack, outdoor play on shaded playground, lunch (provided by parents), and naptime.

Infant Program
Tadpoles - Mother's Day Out program for infants with safe, cozy, and loving environment for children learning early independence
Toddler Program
Pollywogs and Fireflies - Mother's Day Out program with exploration through open-ended centers designed for toddlers
Preschool Program
Turtles and Dragonflies (Mother's Day Out), Guppies and Frogs (Preschool) - Small and large group instruction, teacher-guided activities, and time for spontaneous play
Kindergarten Program
Bumblebees - Preschool-Pre-K program preparing children for kindergarten readiness
Enrichment Programs
Special Activities
Chapel Time
Monthly chapel time in church sanctuary to prepare children for church attendance, includes Bible stories and verses with puppets
Music Program
Specialized music teacher (Miss Sheila) provides music and movement instruction two days a week for ages 1-5 years
Field Trips
Older classrooms enjoy two field trips per year, including annual fall trip to Gentry's Farm with hayrides, mazes, and pumpkin picking

Kathy Davis
Director
Working with children is my passion. I have enjoyed my role as Director of Brook Hollow's Weekday Program for the last 31 years. I also teach aerobics two nights a week at the church and believe that being fit is important for the mind, body, and soul. I love connecting families to quality education.

I graduated from Belmont University with a BS degree in Health and Elementary Education. I am married to my college sweetheart, and we have 4 wonderful grown children. I enjoy going on hikes, camping, kayaking, and babysitting.
